Bio-degradable tent pegs become fashionable!

No-one would disagree with the need to respect the wishes of Michael Eavis to reduce the amount of detritus left on Worthy Farm following Glastonbury Festival. However, the general opinion of the effectiveness of the bio-degradable tent pegs handed out to happy campers was that they needed to be sturdier!

Made from potato the pegs obviously fulfilled the bio-degradable part of their moniker, but a spot more R&D to make them effective as tent pegs wouldn’t go amiss. Even when attempting to push them into relatively soft ground a lot of FMS staff found that they frequently broke. But, that didn’t stop little Freya Gay innovatively adapting them as a vital fashion accessory - see the picture to the left and the photo gallery!
